PetaMem acquires the Technology Division of HJ-Computers

PetaMem GmbH and HJ-Computers ( www.hj-computers.de), a Fuerth-based IT-company, have reached a substantial agreement that will allow PetaMem to offer HJ-Computers' technologies, especially in the areas HA-clustering, compute-clustering and storage as an integral part of its own business solutions.

This activities will be bundled in a new business unit called "PetaMem Hardware Solutions". This ensures the needed flexibility for offering the speech processing systems for alternative Unix platforms further on.

"The hardware knowhow of HJ-Computers, its customer base and an existing organization structure that fits were the decisive factors for our buying. It is our intention to make our systems affordable to sub-enterprise customers in the midterm. Cost effective but performant linux-based server systems are a pre-condition for this.", says Richard Jelinek, managing director of PetaMem GmbH.
